Theme: Tradewinds=Landfall
Houston, Texas is the home of PRH, which provides gallery spaces in 8 shotgun-type houses, a unique enviroment for creative works. Dorothea, is among two US artists and four UK artists to work on the theme during a four-week period. Using the themes and specificity of Huston and its relation to the currents and winds of the Atlantic, and the connections to the Caribbean, Africa, Europe, and England. Dorothea’s installation is ‘presented’ at PRH, and in 2007 at the Museum of London.

School Poet-In-Residence - Creativity In the Curriculum, Westminister City Council

2003-2005
A series of 3-day and 10-day residencies, in a six primary schools (including one Special School), across the borough. The project aimed to raise achievement in literacy through direct involvement with practicing artists. Dorothea visited classes, and took pupils out to related sites to produce their poetry, performances, and artwork. Each school visit included INSET sessions with teaching staff. School projects included the themes: water; Greek Mythology (Medusa); the Fire of London; Folktales (The Willow Pattern story); Visual arts and experiential poetry.

Over a four week period Dorothea contributed and participated in the African-New World Studies program and the FIU academic community, while working on her poetry.

Writer in Residence for Swanley, - Kent County Council/Sevenoaks District Council

Over six months Dorothea, developed her own poetry and worked with a variety of local writers and communities in Swanley, West Kent.

Brixton Market Poet-In-Residence, Spread The Word/Poetry Society
